Outside of the office you can probably find Chris somewhere in the hills or wandering in a forest.

So, what’s the difference?
Consulting and fractional management may seem similar, but they serve quite different purposes. A consultant is usually brought in to address a particular strategic problem. They will analyse the issue, provide recommendations and direction but then, essentially, step away.
A fractional leader, however, takes on an active role within the company, is responsible and accountable for making decisions, for leading teams, and for ensuring that the company’s strategies are executed.
In politics, a well worn aphorism is that "advisors advise, ministers decide". Likewise in business: consultants advise, management decide.
A fractional leader is hired, on a part-time basis, as part of the company’s management team and is therefore responsible and accountable for results. For a fractional leader, be it Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Marketing Officer or any other executive function, they operate exactly as a traditional executive, but without the full-time salary and without any long-term commitment from the company.
